ALYSSA

Coach
MOT, CF-L1

From a young age, Alyssa faced weight challenges despite her active involvement in horseback riding and softball. Her interest in fitness and health grew during high school, leading her to join the student athletic training program. Alyssa earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitative Science in 2014 and her Master of Occupational Therapy from Concordia University in 2016.

While pursuing her master’s degree, Alyssa explored powerlifting and strength training, discovering a passion for it through her local gym. However, balancing work, horseback riding, and intense workouts became challenging. Enter CrossFit—an all-encompassing blend of strength, mobility, endurance, and technical skill that she hadn’t realized she needed.

Alyssa currently works as a pediatric occupational therapist, helping children develop strength, mobility, and healthy habits. Her experience in both CrossFit and occupational therapy offers a broad perspective on wellness and skill development.

In January 2024, Alyssa earned her CF-L1 certification and is excited to use her knowledge to help others discover new skills, stay safe, and embrace challenges. At CrossFit Woolly Mammoth, she believes every workout is an opportunity to overcome physical, mental, and emotional obstacles.

Outside the gym, Alyssa enjoys time with her husband Joe, their two cats and dog, and caring for her horse. She loves hiking, traveling, attending concerts, and hosting game nights with friends.
